Kids’ football kits: measure the shirt and shorts

Buyer guide · Updated 15 October 2026

Compare the shirt and shorts measurements and confirm the socks size before choosing a children’s football kit or requesting printing.

Use measurements as the starting point

Age can help explain who the kit is for, but it does not establish garment fit. Children of the same age can need different measurements. Compare a shirt and shorts that currently fit, then ask for the same flat measurements on the exact selected kit.

Check both garments

Record shirt chest width and body length. For shorts, record the relaxed waistband width and overall length, and ask how the waistband stretches. Our kids kits include a shirt, shorts and socks. Confirm the size of all three pieces; other accessories require a separate agreement.

Plan printing with the garment in mind

Send the intended name and number exactly and ask to review their placement for that size. A print layout shown on an adult shirt is not enough to confirm its appearance on a child’s kit. Approve the reference and size before finalising decoration.

Separate different children’s requirements

For a family or group enquiry, use one row per reference and size rather than a shared age range. Include the number of complete kits and your destination. Ask for current product photos and availability so your shortlist can be checked against the actual request.

Record shirt and shorts measurements

Measure a shirt and shorts the child already wears comfortably. The reference garments do not need to carry the same team badge; their measurements are being used to describe the preferred fit.

Garment Record in centimetres Keep the method clear
Shirt Flat chest width and body length Show the underarm points and where length starts.
Shorts Relaxed waistband width and overall length State that the waistband is not stretched.
Sleeves or legs Any length that matters to the selected design Compare short-sleeve, long-sleeve or trouser references separately.
Complete kit List shirt, shorts and socks, plus any separately requested accessories Ask which pieces are included in the quote.

Example: one family, two separate kit lines

This example uses labels A and B rather than children’s names. No birth dates or personal details are needed to prepare a garment-size enquiry. Keep each set of measurements beside the relevant product link.

Kit A | product __ | shirt width __ / length __ cm | shorts waist __ / length __ cm | quantity 1
Kit B | product __ | shirt width __ / length __ cm | shorts waist __ / length __ cm | quantity 1
Please confirm the offered size and included pieces for each line.
Printing, if requested: __; please show its placement on the selected size.

If the shirt measurements look suitable but the shorts differ, ask about that mismatch before choosing the kit size. Do not resolve it by assuming every piece scales in the same way. Keep printing approval separate until the kit reference and size are settled.

Common questions

Can I select a kit using age alone?

Use age as context and compare garment measurements. Do not assume a single age label fits every child.

Are socks included in every children’s kit?

Yes. Our kids football kits include a shirt, shorts and socks. Confirm the size of every piece for your selected reference.

More questions about your selection

What if the child is between two listed sizes?

Send the comparison measurements and ask for both candidate sizes measured in the same way. Check the shirt and shorts together; an age label alone cannot settle the choice.

Do I need to send a child’s photo for a size enquiry?

A garment measurement record can be prepared without a child’s photo. Photographs of the reference clothing and tape positions are usually the clearer comparison.

Ask about your selection

Send the product links, sizes and quantities to confirm current photos, availability and a quote for your destination.
